They call it the "Juhu molestation" case. I think it is a monstrosity. An blatant attack on women. This incident is going to have far-reaching implications for Indian society.
Next time a young woman prepares to step out of the house, even for a small errand, she will be warned gently by her family, "be careful."
The goons not only insulted the modesty of those NRG women, they have struck a massive blow to the collective psyche of Indian women.
The Juhu incident has inserted itself in the deepest recesses of the mind of all women in the form of a fear, irrational perhaps. And fear is the biggest enemy of confidence.
The Mumbai police is treating this case as another molestation case. I think it should be treated more gravely. It has scarred the minds, not only of those unfortunate women, but of all Indian women.
When we realise the gravity of the case, I feel we should learn something from the Chinese (Ironically they are trying to erase this tradition). Those guilty of serious crimes are paraded through the streets and then shot. The Juhu culprits deserve the same.
Then next time such monsters will think thrice even before leering at women.
