Some more thoughts on the Juhu molestation issue. Sadly, courtesy Steve Bucknor, this matter will begin to fade from the newspapers and TV screens. I wish it was so forgettable. In my previous post I must have seemed to some as coming across as rather drastic in my views.
I do not think so. Once the seriousness of the issue sinks in, I think I am justified to hold the opinion I do.
I mean we talk we talk of empowering women all the time. And when a woman is molested in full public gaze, her bottom pinched, and her body parts fondled; do we forget it after a few days? That would show our hypocrisy. Molestation is rape, maybe a milder form. But it is an attack on a woman.
The Juhu incident has placed a fear of stepping out of home. Most ladies maybe consciously unaware of it; but in the deep corners of the psyche it has established itself.
That is why I say it is vital that the goons must be punished severely. The harm they have done to the collective female psyche is enormous.
