We pay taxes. Why do we have to suffer inefficient politicians and bureaucrats?

We Indians are hardworking people. We face difficulties but we toil hard , pay our taxes and contribute to nation building. In fact India today is because of the hard work of its people.

We have lousy roads. We get rude lousy service from government offices and are fleeced by the Private sector companies. We tolerated that too. We also tolerated stupid socialist policies by our leaders that kept us in the dumps for decades.

Why do we pay taxes? So that the government builds roads, hospitals for us. So that we get free and courteous medical facilities. That the government protects us. The Mumbai terror attack has clearly shown that the politicians and bureaucrats have been collecting taxes from us but instead are doing a sloppy work of their responsibilities.

If we had been sloppy in our work place we would have fired in no time. Then why do we have to suffer corrupt and inefficient politicians and babus?
